Pilgrims not Tourists
“Let’s go to Turkey,” he said.
Vacations include rest and relaxation. This was not that.
Joined by friends made on our trip to Israel three years ago, we took more steps than walking to the beach looking for an umbrella and a lounge chair. For example, the small trail leading to what will soon be the site of an archeological dig at ancient Colossae was equal to a stairmaster.
Why Turkey? After all, Turkey is 99% Muslim. What would prompt a group of Christians to choose such a destination?
